Scot Kevin Haller was born September 29, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati before coming to Yale, where he wrote for the Yale Daily News, acted in productions of the Yale College Dramat, and majored in English. After graduating magna cum laude he pursued a career in journalism, working as an editor at the Saturday Review before moving to California, where he became a senior editor of People and chief of the magazine’s Los Angeles bureau. During his time at People, he authored over twenty cover articles based on interviews with many celebrities including Bette Davis, Sally Field, and Rock Hudson. He was also a contributor to Esquire, New York, Horizon, the Dial and TV Guide magazines. He died on June 24, 1990.
